Laura, I think you took that a little too personally. I'm sorry if you took that as my passing off a low blow at you in some way, I assure you that it was not my intention you feel like you seem to. I would've posted the same to anyone whom posted in any other language.
Even Ross, Ryan, Vaurek and I hold each other to the rules and guidelines we have set out. To offer anyone here special treatment because of the friendship most of us share, is unfair to the others. If I had not offered up a little nudge there, what would you have had me say to others here whom have received similar nudges in the past?
Let me assure you, that you are not the only person here to receive a post or PM in regards to the guidelines.
In no way do I believe I should not be held to the rules. I do believe that I should, without question.
The point of my post was not that just because we are friends, that I should be held to a different standard regarding the rules--absolutely not. But rather that at the very least, you could have reminded me nicely or requested of me to provide a translation. I know because I was posting to Ross that it will be read by others in community hence the fact that Ross knows French is immaterial. I understand that.
But a “please” would have been nice. And informing me Holo is an English speaking forum is so very unnecessary, I was a bit taken aback by that. Again, I am not a stranger…
Being decent within a given context is, I believe, not “special treatment”…we are friends and even if your goal was to inform everyone that Holo is English speaking and people should post translations when they post in another language—
even if that was your ultimate goal, you still, I believe, could have spoken to me a little more kindly.
I respect the rules and certainly have never broken any—not knowingly— It is not the content of your post that irks me but the manner in which you brought it to my attention.
And as I’ve said, you are a wonderful Admin here. I thank you for your work and dedication as Ross feels as well, obviously.
Being kind to a friend who’s been on the same forum with you for two years does not defeat your goal to be clear and definitive to the rest of the community or new members.

I think this is true for any language because of idiomatic terms that are inevitable—yes, for French even more than others. English itself can have far too many exceptions—I before E except after C! lol
