- Are you or have you been in the past a member of any other Star Trek role playing groups ?
......Yes, two others in yahoo before the user room fiasco. Table top Star Trek. One(failed) instance of roleplay in Bridge Commander. One instance of a group in Starfleet Command 1-3.
- What name(s) will you use on the server?
......Kat, Android Kat.. Which ever one you feel fits better.
- What's your Email address or MSN etc...? (Optional)
......I reserve the right to go with the optional.
- Do you have any Star Trek or other role playing experience ?
......Yes. 10 years in table top, 8 of those also spent in yahoo text. I also roleplay on World of Warcraft and City of Heroes/Villans. Two months trying to get a Bridge commander RP going. And two years doing an Starfleet Command 1-3 roleplay. I know this won't give me any special privilages, but you asked.
- What is your favourite division ? [Command, Engineering, Security, Medical...]
......Engineering, followed by medical.
- Do you have a favourite map to use?
......Any map I can run.

Welcome, glad to see you finally decided to join. BTW, i'm interested in hearing how the BC rp worked, that sounds very fun, interesting at least. Feel free to open a thread on the subject if you'd like, or PM me, either way i'd like to hear about it. Welcome again.

Not well actually. We started it out as an open server thing(Run from my spare, server computer) but we fast encountered the ever present n00b problem. People who didn't care about the starfleet genral orders, or the starfleet way of doing things, they just wanted to frag you.

Then we switched it over to a private(password protected) environment, but due to the limited playerbase, and the fact that newer and better games were comming out, quickly killed that idea completely.

Then there was the fact that, only the captain could really do anything as you could not have more than just one person to a ship. So it was more of a captains only thing, further killing the idea.

We had a message board set up for the out of ship role-play. And even at one point experimented with using another game as out venue for inter-character roleplay. Namely City of Heroes, Anarchy Online and Jedi Knight 3: Jedi Academy as those were the only games that allowed the most customization for our roleplay preferances. But in the end the entire thing was scrapped as a bad idea and we all left for our own things.

Had the RPG-X mod been about back when we tried this, this whole ting might have been reversed and some of the people here might have been putting in applications to our group. Hehe. But it was nice while it lasted.

Very interesting. Perhaps you could have done a fleet rp? such as these ships had this mission (on the other side of the map) and this ship had to scan the planet, or drop off supplies, and then a battle could come up and they could all respond or something. I don't know, just boggling over the ideas.

Well Astrometrics would fall under sciences but I suppose, if Ross wants, we could make it separate like we did Chief of Security and Chief Tactical Officer.

The only problem with so many chiefs, is that the SRP is reduced to a powerplay between the Chief Cook and the Chief food prepareer.

That's why I asked about just a egular Astrometrics Officer. No chief. Would fall under science's chief staff member. But rather than focusing on science as a whole, just focuses on Astrometrics.
