Is it just me, or does every one seem to be forgetting that part? I don't believe it's a mistake, they just feel the need to bypass the rules page.

well, when i forgot it, it was an 'honest' forgetting, for i'd been reading the rules days before. But i agree, this is getting suspicious

We have every right to think they, not only didn't read the rules pag, but just filled in their names on the last line rather than clicking on that link to read the rules.

I didn't do it because I don't read most rules pages. Most of it is just common sense stuff anyway.

perhaps you should read them. that's what they're for. who tells you that there aren't rules with which you'd completely disagree?

However, if most rules are the same, i.e., don't smart off to admins, don't be a smacktard, don't "noob" people on the server, etc etc, then one can generally get by with not worrying about reading the rules, since most rules are fundamentally the same. You'll find that I'm a pretty easygoing guy, and the only rules I may not necessarily agree with are the largely arbitrary ones with no basis in rational thought, which you won't find too terribly often; and even then you probably shouldn't be on that server anyway.

i agree, most rules are basically the same. still, why not read them?

I agree that for the majority of people the rules are common sense. But you would be surprised at how little common sense some people have. Its easier for us that its mandatory for you to read the rules, because then if you break them you can't pull the "I didn't know" excuse. Because you put that little engage at the end of your app saying you did. Its not like we have a ton of rules either. It takes like 3 seconds to read through them.

First off, welcome Serena. Second if this is going to continue I suggest a new thread is made to discuss the "Mandatory Viewing of Rules" Otherwise this should be left to greet our new member Serena.

Welcome to the Holo-Federation!!

Ya, sorry about that. The issue was brought up and I thought I would address it. But ya, I agree another thread should be made if you want to continue to discuss this.

So because I clogged up your welcome thread with my rant, I will say welcome again  ;D. Welcome.

Welcome

Now we know some people will nag you abotu reading rules. I would say it is an easy msitake to miss the area which they require from you. I'll explain why tis easy to miss it:

Rules are listed via numbers.

So when you read the alst number and attached rule, its easy to click back or 'forum home' etc.

Also, the part which they require you to read is also marked in such a way that from a sideway glance, can look as the lining which soemtimes may make it appear as a signature above the pics of soemones profile signature.

So is it suspect that people are missing this final rule? Or just simple misunderstanding of onyl reading what is numebred and missing the final parts cause it kinda looks like something else unrelated?

I think both are highly possible.

I thought I said make a new subject the subject was to be continued. BAH! Does no one listen anymore?

One more post about the rules and I will split the conversation out and those who said welcome and followed up with the convo will have go give a new welcome.

I apologize to you Serena, this is the first i've seen an application thread get turned into a discussion thread. So once again welcome.
