Welcome back everyone! Sorry we ended up being down so long, it took a lot longer than anticipated for us to get all the work done but we muddled on and now we're back!
For those who haven't noticed, the forums have had a complete overhaul... We've upgraded to the latest SMF, thrashed the member list from 273 down to 94, we've completely reworked the board layout to make things easier to find and to give them a 'less cluttered' appearance. Along with this we've added a few new features which include separate division gaming boards for Elite Force, Star Wars Jedi Academy and Star Trek Online. These areas are not accessible by default and will only become available by requesting to join the corresponding member group. These can be requested from 'Profile>Modify Profile>Group Membership', if you encounter any problems please let us know. Most of the active members should already have access to the SRP section (granted by AL-2) and to the Elite Force section (granted by AL-EF), if you can't access these sections and you would like to, please let us know.
New features on the forums include a media gallery (accessible from the menu bar) where users can upload pictures, files, music etc to share with the rest of the community (please ensure anything you upload is not in violation of the rules (http://www.holo-federation.com/index.php?topic=3978.0) or it will be removed). We've also installed an arcade system which you can access from the menu bar, so far we have a selection of 17 games for you to play on, with the likelihood of more being added at a later date.
Forum profiles also now have a section for you to put your XBox Live Gamertag, Wii Code, Playstation Network ID and your Steam ID to be displayed for others to see since we seemed to have a new thread popping up every other week asking for one or the other.
I think that pretty much sums up all the changes but if I remember anything else, I'll let you know haha. Of course if anyone notices anything unusual which hasn't been mentioned, or if you have any problems since the forum upgrade, please let us know.
Finally, with all the moving around it's highly possible we've missed some threads and they aren't where they should be now, so if you notice a thread you think should be somewhere else please let us know. :congrats:

Uh...and how often do I post in another language--no, how often have I EVER posted in another language?? Jesus Hocking whether you know french or not, anyone could see it was a nice gesture. Aside from the fact that Ross speaks french and again--anyone could see that Ross's name is in the statement, with a "wink" at the end, hence ANYONE would likely conclude that it was NICE gesture.
Why do you speak to me as if I am a stranger to this community? I looked through that thread, I didn't see anyone who complained that they didn't understand it. You are a wonderful asset to this community and deserve every honor you have received.
But I think that post is beneath you and I was a little hurt by it.

Laura, I think you took that a little too personally. I'm sorry if you took that as my passing off a low blow at you in some way, I assure you that it was not my intention you feel like you seem to. I would've posted the same to anyone whom posted in any other language.
Even Ross, Ryan, Vaurek and I hold each other to the rules and guidelines we have set out. To offer anyone here special treatment because of the friendship most of us share, is unfair to the others. If I had not offered up a little nudge there, what would you have had me say to others here whom have received similar nudges in the past?
Let me assure you, that you are not the only person here to receive a post or PM in regards to the guidelines.

In no way do I believe I should not be held to the rules. I do believe that I should, without question.
The point of my post was not that just because we are friends, that I should be held to a different standard regarding the rules--absolutely not. But rather that at the very least, you could have reminded me nicely or requested of me to provide a translation. I know because I was posting to Ross that it will be read by others in community hence the fact that Ross knows French is immaterial. I understand that.
But a “please” would have been nice. And informing me Holo is an English speaking forum is so very unnecessary, I was a bit taken aback by that. Again, I am not a stranger…
Being decent within a given context is, I believe, not “special treatment”…we are friends and even if your goal was to inform everyone that Holo is English speaking and people should post translations when they post in another language—even if that was your ultimate goal, you still, I believe, could have spoken to me a little more kindly.
I respect the rules and certainly have never broken any—not knowingly— It is not the content of your post that irks me but the manner in which you brought it to my attention.
And as I’ve said, you are a wonderful Admin here. I thank you for your work and dedication as Ross feels as well, obviously.
Being kind to a friend who’s been on the same forum with you for two years does not defeat your goal to be clear and definitive to the rest of the community or new members.

I think this is true for any language because of idiomatic terms that are inevitable—yes, for French even more than others. English itself can have far too many exceptions—I before E except after C! lol

I really like that you don't have to log out and log back in every time to get new things in "Show unread posts since last visit" Since I primarily rely on that now and "show new relies ..."

There may have been an issue with the cookie for the old forums that caused that for you lol, glad it seems to be working without signing out and back in all the time now for you though :)
